Following in the footsteps of Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort have increased their ticket prices.

With immediate effect, a one day, single park adult ticket will be $96 plus tax, up from $92 and the price for a child’s ticket increased from $86 to $90.

Universal's two day, two park pass has risen from $128 to $136 for adults and $122 to $130 for children.

A two day, "park-to-park" pass went from $166.99 to $195.99 for adults and from $156.99 to $185.99 for children. Guests must buy this pass to be able to ride the Hogwarts Express train, which will link the two Harry Potter lands.

The price increase comes shortly before the opening of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley which is set to open this summer at Universal Studios Florida.

Universal spokesman Tom Schroder said in a statement, "We set our prices to reflect the value of the entertainment experience we provide."

To be honest there will become a point where the prices will rule a lot of people out even with the 'extra' benefits they may try and include.

People cannot afford to go as often as they used to because the cost of flights and tickets have gone up yet our wages remain the same.

Both universal and Disney are as bad as each other and eventually they will push people too far.
