Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise, based on the popular Disneyland and Walt Disney World attraction, has grossed $3.7 billion worldwide over four films. A film based on The Haunted Mansion is currently in the works with director Guillermo del Toro, and rumors have circulated about films for other attractions, including the “Jungle Cruise.†Also in development is Magic Kingdom, a film that will center on Disneyland Park as a whole. The Hill will be a thrilling adventure movie about five young adventurers called to the top of the Matterhorn. Their journey down from the mountain brings them face-to-face with a Yeti. The Matterhorn Bobsleds attraction, located in Disneyland’s Fantasyland section, was originally inspired by Walt Disney’s trip to Switzerland when filming Third Man on the Mountain in the late 1950’s. The attraction, a toboggan-themed roller coaster, has been delighting Disneyland guests since 1959.
