Just wondering if USA medium (female) is similar size to UK size 14?
probably... US members a UK 14 is a 10-12 US - is this classed as medium?
8-10 is a medium
Per this chart
Thank you so much! I wonder if this should become stickie for others to refer when needed?
Thank you x
Keep in mind though, sizes vary a great deal between manufacturers, fiber content and style. So much so that knowing a person wears a "medium" is useful only if you know what manufacturer that person is referring to. At least that is the way it is here.
For instance, Ralph Lauren's clothing line is very generous. I can wear something that, by label, is two sizes smaller than other lines. If I buy something from a value or budget store, I always have to buy it much larger than I would think I need.
I never by anything with spandex as it clings, even if it's only 5% of the fiber content. Same for polyester, hate the stuff.
So, knowing sizes is a general guideline, but very imprecise overall.
Oh vanity thy name is sizing!
I always measure the girls before we go and then take a tape to the store with me. It's been much more successful that going by sizes
