The seat layout has changed since our last trip. We always had the exit row seats in the bubble, but they are no longer PE seats. :(
So, can you recommend good PE seats? Or seats to avoid if possible. It will be on a 747-400 from LGW.

    Thank you. :)

we go from manchester but have always done the same as you, upstairs bubble but like you say, with economy up there in half the seats it's now a nightmare :( they've absolutely ruined it.

For PE we now favour downstairs, close to the door as possible

Virgin have ruined the bubble by putting economy up there as well :( We always had the same seats as you.

Downstairs I'd go for window seats as there are only 2 but probably would be like Keith and go to the back of PE.

It's got to be financial, maybe it's because if people want to sit in economy in the bubble they have to pay extra and they have got more economy seats than they did PE so they make more money. It was a very bad move by Virgin.

thats the thing, the seats are the same cost as economy anywhere else :( and virgin are always saying, like the other airlines, that they rely on premium/upper class to subsidise economy so it just makes no sense

nope, it's the same PE fare as downstairs and the same Economy fare as economy downstairs. The seats are simply selectable 60 days out like every other normal type (theyre not like the extra legroom bookables etc)

9ish hours from Manchester and oh it's so long. I enjoy flying but omg :(

For me it generally goes something like this:-
Arrive at Airport 2-3 hours in advance
an hour or so in a lounge waiting for gate to open
Gate opens 30mins-1hr late (cos it does)
    Get on plane
take off - huge grin on face
Within minutes, they come around with drinks and lunch
    eat/drink a little, trays collected
sit back, wow that wasted a LOT of time, must be half way through by now
Look at watch, realise 1 hr has passed out of 9 ;(

By the time we get off at Orlando, my mouths dry, face is dry, legs are cramped, probably not feeling great, bit headachy and now facing immigration queues, bag waits, hoping there's a decent hire car, hoping the i4 isn't too crazy.....

We usually manage to call at publix and pick up a wonderful deli chicken on the way to the villa and that's when we can truly start feeling like we're there.

Yes, I've looked there Tony, but it's not as reliable as first-hand recommendations. :)
