Virgin are relaunching their Guest List service
    http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/us/en/the-virgin-experience/extras/guest-list.html

You get the chauffeur driven car to/from the airport
    fast track checkin
    fast track security
    clubhouse access
    airmiles
baggage first off tagged as Upper class

So it's basically all the Upper class advantages except the actual seat on the plane/meals etc.

    Would you do it?

I don't like the sound of this at all.

I must be honest, I can't say I'm impressed that anyone can come into the Club House and get the extras that Upper Class passengers pay for as part of a premium experience. At the moment the Club House's are relaxing and quiet, I would actually complain if they become over run.

It's actually quite difficult to get the complimentary spa treatments now unless you pre-book, if they allow more people in then I can see it will get worse.

It will take longer for cases to come off if more people have the upper class tags on their luggage, the lines at Fast Track can be long at times now as other people are given an upgrade to use it - no not happy at all :(

I can't see the point of this other than Virgin making money and trying to upset their upper class passengers even more!

Got the PE seat and yes I like the sound of the extras. Might be cheaper for me to do this as a cab to Manchester costs me £400 ish anyway, may as well get the extras too, plus we get there super early and this year we will be super early because no overnight stay in a motel... sooooo I'm thinking gotta pay for the cab anyways, not having the motel and their crappy breakfast may be cost effective for us?

There is a limit of a 75 mile radius each way to the airport.

We have never been able to use it because we live 270 odd miles from the airport.

Don't start me on cab fares. I live around the corner from Heathrow and after a minicab almost run over a pram during some of the worst driving I've ever witnessed, I decided it was safer to take a black cab back home at the end of the trip. The meter was almost a tenner by the time we left the airport, he drove like he'd stolen his taxi, all the while cursing the short trip and charged me £38 for the privilege. Just to be clear, I don't begrudge anyone making a good living, but the bellyaching, the absolute absence of professionalism and that self-pitying attitude, I can't and won't bear.

...OK, sorry, rant over. *deep breath*

For me, no, the extras are nice but wouldn't affect my choice of airline. I get nothing from airport lounges, perfectly happy finding a quiet spot and people-watching. I'd quite like a ride to the airport but, as you can see from my tirade above, I've spent too long working in transport to make a good passenger. Fast track security, though... that I'd pay for.

I think more space, being able to lie down etc on board is more important to me so I wouldn't be bothered about the other things.

I know, it's just that I'm right in the middle of middle earth lol. Plus we have scooters we take and so much luggage to bring back so it's not just any old cab we have it's more like a van.
