Walk The World, is a new kind of walking vacation that is taking place at the Walt Disney World Resort between the 14th and 18th November 2013. Walk The World combines two great experiences into one, a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort and a walking vacation with a purpose.

Over the course of three days, walkers will walk around the Walt Disney World Resort following a suggested journey through the resort’s theme parks and other locations.

The event organizer, Robert Webber said "You might think walking around any one of the resort's theme parks is more than enough, but there is more to see beyond the theme parks that it's worth a little extra walking. There are miles of sidewalks and pathways waiting to be explored. These are probably the best-maintained walking paths that you will encounter anywhere in the world. Here is your chance to walk along perfect sidewalks with peaceful waterways, beautifully maintained gardens, flowering trees and bushes, and award-winning architecture. Participants have several mileage options each day averaging up to 10 miles per day. Each day's route is unique, taking walkers through a different journey, and they can walk as little or as much as they want."

“There are so many die-hard Walt Disney World fans that are going to love the idea of visiting their favorite theme park while walking to raise money for their favorite charity,” Webber said. “In years past, A Walk Around The World participants have traveled to castles in Europe and trekked miles throughout historical destinations, but this is the first time they’ll be given a chance to visit Cinderella Castle and walk miles throughout a fantasy destination. It’s going to be some serious fun — the walk will be both magical and meaningful. If your feet get a little tired, you can just hop on one of the enchanted rides and take a break!”

The registration fee of $995 per person includes double occupancy lodging at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, group meals, group transportation, group shows, and group entrance to theme parks.

Participants who raise a minimum of $1,650 in donations for the charity of their choice can enjoy a lower registration fee of $350.

Also included are unique experiences like private fireworks viewing and private meals inside the theme parks before or after operating hours, as well as walking guides, route maps, and airport transfers from the Orlando International Airport (MCO) compliments of Disney's Magical Express.

Single participants will be paired with a roommate of the same gender and smoking preference, or can opt for a single room at a nominal extra charge.

Walkers must be 14 years old, but non-walking family and friends are welcome to share a room.

Walk The World is the newest event in a line-up of walking vacations produced by For A Cause. Each vacation brings together people from all walks of life to raise funds and make a difference in the fight against life-threatening diseases such as AIDS, breast cancer, multiple sclerosis and heart disease and social ills like hunger and homelessness.
