Walt Disney Studios has announced its next major animated film, MOANA, which is due to be released in 2018. The animated film will be directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, who also directed Aladdin and The Princess and the Frog. Mark Mancina, who was involved in the music of the Lion King and Tarzan will write the music for MOANA. MONOA is a computer animated mythic adventure set around 2000 years ago and across a series of islands in the South Pacific. A Disney spokesperson said "The main character will be Moana Waialiki, a sea voyaging enthusiast, and the only daughter of a chief in a long line of navigators. When her family needs her help, she sets off on an epic journey. The film will also include demi-gods and spirits taken from real mythology." It seems a long time to wait, but it looks like Disney will be getting a Hawaiian Princess.
