    Hi,

We have been looking into next year price for two weeks at Coronado Spring Resort including the dining plan, park tickets and flight with Virgin. It came up to £3,500 which is £600 more than last year (!)

We prefer to stay at one of the disney resort, is there any ways to make the holiday cheaper?

Stay at an all stars or pop century? Wait for special offers at quieter times?

    mmmmhhh that's an idea...

When is the 'quiet' period? Another option we are looking is to book flight directly with a company and hotel and tickets at the disney directly?

i usually do DIY and it usually comes in a lot less than packages especially with Virgin. When is that for?

Are you paying for the dining plan? If so, drop that and go with a value resort. That will make the initial bill cheaper.

Then you'll have the options of dining where you please, and can keep costs under control by using the many (very nice) counter service restaurants.

If you are determining your costs hoping for free dining program, remember that it's not truly free as you are paying more for the room.

The less expensive times of the year are those periods before and after major holidays and spring break. Easter, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving, and of course, Christmas are the times of the year things are most costly, with Christmas being the very most expensive time.

January is less expensive (marathon time, though). Parts of February and March can be depending upon spring breaks and Easter, same for parts of April.

May and parts of June are less expensive as most schools, colleges and unis are still in session.

September and October and part of November see it less expensive, and the first week or two of December...

That would be a quieter time to go, so your prices should be pretty valid if you checked them for that time of year.

Again, to reduce the cost you may want to go with a value resort. They are great fun, and the food courts are nice too. We've always enjoyed our stay in them. Prefer All Stars over Pop Century for the room layout (seems bigger) and the food court (we simply like All Stars better). The pool bars at All Stars make some pretty awesome drinks too. :D :D

Last week after Tuesday it was so quiet! 5/10 minute waits at lunch time in MK on all the big rides. I forgot you don't get free dining at the values. Went to the counter service at Coronado springs and it was the worst meal of the holiday!

Yes, we are not fans of Coronado Springs counter service either.

We have had some decent luck with the counter services in EPCOT (in the world showcase) and Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Rays in the MK.

We don't generally eat at DHS.

Oh, and we've had decent enough "stuff" at the counter services in AK, too.

OH! And the big daddy of all counter service at Sunshine Seasons. You can really have a lovely meal there given all their selections.

I have said here at home that I would like to do a Disney vacation where all we did for meals was to choose from counter service. That would make a neat review, wouldn't it?

It would be fun to see how elaborate your meals could be! :D
