We made it from NYC to Orlando in 16 1/2 hours. We stopped for breakfast at Cracker Barrel and for two gas stops and still made great time. We left NY at 25 degrees and arrived to 67 degrees. The weather is supposed to be in the low 80's the rest of the week. Tomorrow we hit Universal. We are about to head out for dinner..... Not sure where yet

Wow 16.5 hours. Fabulous time. You are 4 hours north of me and it normally takes me 15.5 hours AT LEAST. Lately though I've not been driving straight through when I drive but rather stopping.

John the roads were in great shape and practically empty all the way down. The kids slept most of the trip and I hovered around the speed limit all the way down. I couldn't believe how quick we got here.
Tonight We went to dinner at a restaurant called Pollo Pio Pio right off of International Drive. I found it on Yelp and it was delicious. We ordered garlic shrimp and a pork chicarron for appetizers ,for entrees my daughter and I each had the pork chops, my son had a breaded chicken cutlet and my wife had steak and onions with a glass of sangria. We shared two flans for dessert. Everything was delicious and the bill was $96. We will be eating there again.

Wow, you made great time on the journey
Gouing to look up Pollo Pio Pio as we are always looking for places to eat we haven't tried yet and we are often around the I Drive area. (Have you tried Big Italy on I Drive....one of our fave places to eat in the area)
    Enjoy your holiday.

That is one hell of a journey but it sounds like it was fairly smooth. Have a great time in Orlando.

Excellent time for the journey down. I'd have been so tired after it though, I probably would have collapsed  Do you go through any time zones changes?

You are doing very well with the secret, you are going to be a very popular dad and husband :D

Hope you have a great time at Universal today.

:D It's talking Chris into all the driving though, as I don't mind driving short distances, but I find it quite scary driving for a long time

I'm the same way, Wen - not so much scary, but I do get horribly bored :) When we went to Canada this past summer, Jon did 90% of the driving, but I did find that even if I could take over the driving for 15-30 minutes here and there, it gave him the break he needed to refresh.

Exactly one of the reasons we take the Auto Train when we can. That drive is really wearing on me.
