So for many years I've looked at pins with interest but only actually bought the odd one which I liked at the time. Friends have sent me some over the years which are my most cherished pins of course.

This time I was ambushed by an ultra friendly CM talking about pin sets and how they look for certain rare pins etc.

I'd kinda like to get a bit more into it but I know I have to have some kind of plan. I can't just keep buying random ones.

Do you collect pins and if so, how do you decide which to get?

I have a feeling it'd be best to look out for certain sets and concentrate on those but I don't know if there's a good place to start

I like the idea of collecting for resorts... are they somewhat limited like a core of say 20 and new couple every year for a resort or are there just thousands :)

I was told when they first came out to collect only pins with gold tails as they're 'rare'.

So I have many Mickey Mouse and Pluto pins with gold tails.

Sadly what I was told was incorrect.

Since I found out I've just been collecting pins I like the look of.

I've got a couple of limited edition sets from the disney store as well.

I don't collect, but seem to have amassed a tidy little grouping of Tinkerbell pins. :D

We collect special occasion and passholder pins. And resort pins if we've stayed there.

They don't keep them where anyone can see them normally. You have to ask if the have them, even at special events. we've not been able to get one at F&W because they sell out quickly.

I really like the resorts so getting the pins for those would suit me quite well

I am not a collector but we have bought about a dozen pins throughout the years. We have bought police/teacher pins( our occupations) .We have also purchased pins that caught our attention like a Mickey Yankee pin. One year we bought a Mickey Poncho pin because we were stuck in a tropical storm for most of our trip. I would never trade them, they are memories of our past trips. I guess we will add a Christmas pin to our collection on our trip next month.

I'm not a pin trader. I do get ones with Walt and every now and again I'll get a pass holder or special event pin. I do have a Stitch dressed as Elvis that is one of my favorites :)
