whats a good laptop to buy these days?

    We're after a new family laptop to log in here :D and do general office things. pcworld has so many its making me dizzy

    any recommendations?

    can get a really good toshiba core2duo for 379 or so but not at pcw

    If you like macs... a macbook would do for family use, if you are a windows lover, I can't reccomend a certain laptop, but I would definatley go with a toshiba, even if it means forking out a few quid more, they are just SO worth it. Generally, the cheaper laptops by other manufacturers are rubbish, for example my first laptop was an acer and it was truly awful, my second was an advent, which was worth! It was practically falling apart!

    I've got a toshiba and its never once showed me any problems with the hardware or build quality. I couldn't reccomend them enough.
