Is there anywhere locally that we can look at outdoor jackets like North Face or something similar.

The only place we have found before is London Fog.

In the UK, Berghaus, North Face, Henry Lloyd make like that. I didn't know what good makes there are in the US. Not that you need a nice warm jacket in Florida though

I've seen Columbia advertised at Prime, what are these like

Columbia is a very popular outdoor brand. Not that everything they make is outdoor activity oriented, but most is.

There are loads of jackets and coats in the shops right now. Target even carries some.

Nearly any department store should have something you like.

TK Maxx has some really good ones that are often at a fraction of the full-branded ones. I got some skiing equipment there and it was a steal! Not sure if you need it now or after your disney trip, but it could probably work out just as cheap as USA prices...

Thanks Josh :hug2: I always forget about TK Maxx, you're probably right about the difference in cost with the way the exchange rate is at the moment :rolleyes008:

I'll second Kohl's, though I'm not 100% sure there's one in Florida (Tink?). They usually have loads of sales going on and a pretty decent selection of Columbia's and ZeroXposur's. If you're looking for North Face, there are probably loads of outdoor shops you could find them in (I LOVE LOVE LOVE my NF).

OOOH Wen...I also found this if you're looking for North Face, or high end jackets....

    Ski World Orlando

Located on the north side of downtown Orlando Florida USA, across from beautiful Lake Ivanhoe.

The mailing address for the main store is:

    Ski World Orlando
    1412 North. Orange Avenue.
    Orlando Florida 32804 USA
    Phone (407) 447-7547

We are just 20 minutes North East of Disney World. If you are in the area please stop by and say hi.

Um. Do the words "ski" and "Orlando" sound a tad bit oxymoronic to anyone else? :shocked025:

Right along with Phoenix and skiing!

The only outdoor sports shop we had 30 years ago was Ski Chalet. Amazingly, they sold skiing stuff throughout the year, although they did have a big after-season sale and stocked warm weather sports stuff. I was surprised at how popular skiing is with the locals. Excluding me, of course.

Thanks Becca, I'll print up the details. It does seem strange having a Ski shop in Orlando

We aren't there yet Dan, I'm trying to get organised for a change :) Chris needs a new warm jacket so I was just seeing what everyone thought about US makes. I don't think there is an outlet at Prime, but they might mail it to us - thank you :hug2:

Bob and I both have Columbia coats from Kohls and mine is super warm and what I really like is that I can throw them in the washer and not have to get them dry cleaned :D

Thanks Dorothy, are they still waterproof after they've been washed or do they need re-proofing
