Most of you know that Jon and I are pretty adventurous eaters, so when it comes to choosing a restaurant for a nice meal at Disney, anything goes.

Now, my parents, while they enjoy a nice (even "fancy") dining experience as much as we do, still tend to be fairly basic eaters. They like "good" food, but not necessarily "fancy" food, if that makes sense.

With that in mind, what places would you recommend in/around the parks for a nice, sit down meal? We will have the dining plan, however, we're not opposed to heading offsite for something fun and unique.

Adrian is like that and he loves 1900 Park Fare for dinner. Offsite Millers Ale House on 192 was so good we visited it twice.

Do you want to go offsite? I can't remember if you will have transport.

We will! My parents will be driving down, and with their available third row seating, we will all be able to venture off site comfortably :)

This seems like an ideal question to put to Wendy`s DH whose preferences are very similar, and they are familiar with both on and off site locations.

 He's away, but I will talk to him tonight when he calls so I will ask him the places he prefers, although I can probably guess which ones he's going to say

The one useful thing I can tell you about offsite restaurants is that if you choose the mid-range type (Chili's, Longhorn, Carrabbas, Outback, etc.) drive as FAR AWAY from the tourist area as you can. Those chains closest to Disney, I-Drive, US/IOA are usually the worst for quality and service.

McCormick and Schmick at Millenia was nice. Good reason to have a snoop around too. :D

That's good advice, thank you. To be honest, I'm looking for a balance, as I would really like to steer clear of the "chain" places and show them a little more diversity - while still making sure they can find something on the menu to eat!
