Alysia and I went to see this today. Wow. Just wow. Apparently it is based on a true story. I love Leonardo DiCaprio. He is such a good actor. But, seriously, he was so good as the guy that I do not like him right now.

The movie is 3 hours long. There is so much utter greed, nudity, sex and drug use that it is unreal. It's done well but it's not a feel good movie by any means.

Sounds really good, don't think I'll go see it at the cinema but look forward to renting it!

January is my most gated month. It's cold, rainy and just grey and depressing here. It's also a huge let done after Christmas. My grandpa died in January too.

It was a really good movie. Martin Scorcese is the director.

You see? This is why I usually go to Florida in January - it staves off the post-Christmas blues!

Back to the original topic, I'm bursting to see this film. I'm going to make good use of my new Cineworld Unlimited card over the next few weeks.

I just heard on the radio that it now holds the record of having the most used of the F word in a US film

Leo does phenomenal acting!!! He def needs to win the Oscar for his performance but he probably won't as the academy seems to hate him.

That being said, the movie is about complete and utter greed and depravity. The real guy is a disgusting pig. I felt like I needed to take a bath afterwards and I really didn't like Leo

I quite liked it, with the exception of one thing - the editing was as greedy as the characters in the movie!

It feels like almost nothing was left on the cutting room floor - even a couple of blurry and out-of-focus shots. So many scenes could have been so much shorter than they were and would have really helped keep the pace up.

Absolutely - now usually, I love an epic movie but this one didn't feel epic so much as... indulgent.
