EPCOT was the second park built at the WDW resort.  When it was opened on October 1 1982 it was named EPCOT Center until 1994 when it was change to just EPCOT.

Disney’s unique Park of discovery where the magic of Disney touches the real world is the third-most visited theme park in the United States, and sixth most visited in the world. Epcot features two distinct worlds of discovery:

Future World and World Showcase, each offer dazzling shows, interactive experiences and amazing attractions that are sure to ignite your senses.

As you wander through Future World you will see all types of technology and have lots of high tech fun.

World Showcase is 11 different nations all with their own architecture and ambassadors representing their culture.  You can stop off in France for some pastries or how about watch an acrobatic show in China anything is possible.

New Pirates League

YO HO HO and a bottle of fun at Disney's Magic Kingdom with the new Pirate's League make over experience.

Opening on June 29th 2009 with bookings taken from May 11th, the Pirate's League offers a similar experience to wannabe pirates as the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique does for princesses.

Participants will receive pirate names before receiving a variety of accessories, including beards, eye patches, scarves, scars, earrings and gold teeth. These will be applied by a "veteran pirate" with sea-sailing tales.

After taking a sacred oath and an official portrait, guests will be part of Jack Sparrow's gang.

There will be three pirate packages.

+ First Mate Package ($49.95): bandana, choice of facial effects, sword and sheath, pirate coin necklace, 5x7 photo and a "personalized pirate oath."

+ Empress Package ($49.95): bandana, "shimmering" makeup, sword and sheath, pirate coin necklace, 5x7 photo and a "personalized pirate oath."

+ Captains Package ($124.95): choice of costume, facial effects, sword and sheath, pirate coin necklace, three 5x7 photos and the personalized oath.

The League will be located in the area between the entrance to the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction and the Pirates Merchandise shop. (Disney says this is currently backstage territory.)
