Very bright, sunny, COLD day. Only 4C.

We arrive at MK just after 9am. I get the usual happy feeling walking up Main Street. Dapper Dans entertainer us for a while.

As usual, Dave’s favourite Buzz is next with a fastpass. He gets maximum score. I don’t...by far lol. Still enjoy trying though.

Peoplemover was rather chilly today but we did it anyway...four layers of clothing helped.

Dumbo was just about a walk on so we went on this followed by photos with Goofini and Donaldo. A wander around the shop too....and another pineapple stick.

We make our way to Pirates for our next Fastpass. We ask for front row. Just got a little wet. We both see a tshirt that we like in the shop.... but the cold weather puts us off buying.

We watch the Muppets for a little while before heading to Mickey’s Friendship Fayre. I have to watch this each visit to the park. It feels quite a bit warmer right now standing in the sun. I can’t help but get emotional every time I watch this show. I am in WDW watching all of these characters and it brings a tear or two. I am so lucky right now.

We warm up a little more with a little jig at the Dance Party.

We head around the back of the castle for a while. We catch the Muppets.

We are in no hurry and stand by the lake, watching folk going to and fro Tom Sawyer’ island. Liberty Belle goes by and we swap waves with folk. The Country Jamboree Bears stroll by, mingling with everyone.

We pick out a spot for the parade. The Christmas parade has finished and it is now back to Festival of Fantasy. I take photos, I wave, I dance....I am talented lol.

A little girl next to me is in her daddy’s arms. She pulls a weird face, grabs daddy’s hand, pulls it to her nose and Achoooooo. She apologises by saying “sorry daddy, my hand was too small to catch all of that snot”

Right now we are waiting for It’s a Small World. The dolls are still singing lol.

Dinner is at. Crystal Palace. We have photos with Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger and Piglet. Meal was quite nice. I had turkey, mash, carrots and sausage on my first plate. My second plate was chicken nuggets and salads. The mini s’more desserts were nice too.

We mess around by the castle for a while once the lights go on, taking selfies and taking photos for others too.

We head back to Tomorrowland and Monsters Inc. LOLOLOLOLOL....Dave got picked on. It was me last summer and he thought it was hilarious. So, he was the one to make antlers, think of a number, make silly noises etc. So funny.

We watch Happily Ever After From Main Street. Wishes it is not....not by far. Dave loves his new camera. He says it is far quicker to react in dark settings and he is getting some cool photos.

Im very sad about wishes :( I was completely open minded and I gave the new show the benefit but I've seen it loads now from all over the place and it's not a patch on wishes.

Totally agree. It does mean that we don't have to be in MK late to wait for fireworks....we can go somewhere nice for a meal instead as we aren't too keen on dinner options at MK

I dont like that there's so many projection effects it means you really have to be in front of the castle now

When they finally replace illuminations I'm gonna cry

its "we go on" since the first time I ever saw it it makes me tear up even now. To me, watching illuminations with a glass of champagne is the best

yeah, I get where your coming from. It was the kids singing "starlight, star-bright, first star I see tonight" that got to me.

MK is still my favorite park...I can always smile no matter if its the first day or the last. I haven't managed to night time shows is a while now...usually when I'm with Stephen I have him already in bed and last trip I had the night out in MK but I just didn't feel the need to stay in the crowds...maybe I'm getting to old I used to love the fireworks-but I find I have a better time when the park is less occupied in the AM and leaving around dinner my nights unwind by the pool.

    I miss Wishes too :(

Don't get me wrong, I love fireworks, so Happily Ever After is cool, but it feels like it misses some of the great choreography of Wishes - the music and fireworks don't mix quite as well, which is one of the things that made Wishes so special. Also, it's tough for me to find a theme in HEA, it's just a montage/collage which, again, has it's place but I preferred the warm and fuzzy Wishes.

OK, so something strange happened on the way to work this morning. I had my music on shuffle and it played three Disney tunes in a row. The second of which was Wishes. It's a song I've heard hundreds of times before but, for some reason, this time, it took me back to MK straight away. I remembered ever firework and the crowd's amazing reaction to it. Those 12 or so minutes of my trip were done with me smiling like a madman and a few people seemed to notice and probably wondered how on Earth someone could be that happy inching forward in London traffic!

It made me really nostalgic and made me want to write in to WDW and ask them to put on a couple of special nights of 'Mishes', for those of us who dearly miss Wishes.

It took multiple "farewell" engagements for the Main Street Electrical Parade to be removed (again)...maybe it's Disney's way of sweetening the pot for visitors to announce a return limited engagement of a show  ... above all else and though we may forget it, ignore it or deny it Disney is a business
