Why did they stop Leave a Legacy at Epcot? There seems to be so much space still left for the tiles.
What about the pavement version of this outside MK....why was that stopped....anyone know?

Anyone lucky enough to have done either of these? I would have loved to do both!

We have done the Epcot and it has become a tradition now to visit this every time we arrive at Epcot most of the time. We were luck to have ours facing toward the Space ship earth.

Yes it is! It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it. We were told that it got another 15 or so years left. Not sure what that mean though

We did the leave a legacy and quite enjoy finding it (and giving it a polish) each year. Apparently it's always been somewhat contentious inside Disney with some execs liking the money others hating the look. The contracts said they would keep it on view for 10 years minimum so I think they stopped it so they could have an "end in sight" so to speak. I'm pretty sure that they stopped in 2006 and so they could in theory remove them all now.

I prefer the pavestones by magic kingdom though. They *DO* come up every now and again as stones need to be repaired. If the stone is damaged beyond repair and it's been there a set number of years, they will add it to a free list and every now and again they offer these up! We were lucky enough to snap one up in a recent batch and it's just outside the ticket turnstiles

We have one of the Epcot ones. It's in the absolute perfect place! It's in the first one facing Spaceship Earth, which is a move from where it was originally.

I have an email address somewhere :/ it's a weird one, like some obscure care taking department and the people can be quite... erm.... non-disney in a sense  but they control their little bit of the world and they know it.

Wow, you guys are so lucky!

Keith.... They *DO* come up every now and again as stones need to be repaired. If the stone is damaged beyond repair and it's been there a set number of years, they will add it to a free list and every now and again they offer these up! How do you find out when they become available?

EDIT - just seen post above

we were really lucky as it came up just when we were getting married at the wedding pavilion so they did a nice celebration pave stone for us and got us a decent spot.
It's still there and looking ok so I hope it stays a while  Image006.jpg

I'll see if I can find the map for you but basically as you stand looking at the castle before you get to the "show your ticket" bits, its quite a way over to the right hand side.

Took me AGES to find it even with the map to be honest

We have a couple at Leave a Legacy. One for us and either 1 or 2 for grand kids. We never remember to keep the numbers with us though. We weren't fortunate to get a stone.
