Experience the Happiest Place on Earth without paying for it! Open 365 days a year, Downtown Disney is a great spot for eating, entertainment, shopping or to just take a stroll. The area is divided into 3 sections—Downtown Disney West Side, Downtown Disney Marketplace and Pleasure Island. Here you’ll find both unique restaurants and old favorites, such as Rain Forest Café, Planet Hollywood, House of Blues and Fultons Crab House which is in a replica of a paddleboat. There are a lot of shopping options, and you won’t want to miss the Lego store. Disney items are plentiful at World of Disney – the largest Disney store in the world. For excellent family entertainment let your imagination run wild at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park and Cirque du Soleil, the show you cannot miss. Afterwards, you can treat the kids (and yourself) with ice cream from the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop.
Downtown Disney Westside is home to the Cirque du Soleil show La Nouba as well as the DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park, AMC Theatres Complex, and House of Blues concert hall. There are separate admission charges for the above. However, entry to DisneyQuest is free if you have an Ultimate Park Hopper or Premium Annual Pass Holder ticket.
Pleasure Island was primarily a nighttime entertainment complex with comedy and dance clubs. The two comedy and four dance clubs on Pleasure Island permanently closed in September, 2008. New shops and restaurants are to open to replace the clubs. Raglan Road Irish Pub & Bar, Fuego by Sosa Cigars, Paradiso 37, Curl by Sammy Duval, Orlando Harley-Davidson, and outdoor food and beverage locations remain open during the transition.
Downtown Disney Marketplace shopping venues include the Lego Imagination Center, Goofy’s Candy Company, World of Disney, Once Upon A Toy, Tren-D and Disney’s Days of Christmas. You’ll also find here Cap’n Jack’s Marina offering boat rentals.
