AGE RESTRICTIONS: None.
Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s marine life stranding response team is one of the nation’s most successful. Many of the sick or injured animals rescued are released after rehabilitation, but some become permanent CMA residents, due to the extent of their injuries. Residents include dolphins, sea turtles and river otters.
Sea Life Safari Eco Tour: One of the most popular things to do at CMA. Hop onboard the Sea Life Safari for a two hour trip into beautiful waters. Look for dolphins, sea birds and other marine life as staff narrate the scenic ride to a shell island. Witness data collection in action as you perform a net pull and pass around sea critters before releasing them back to the bay. A hands on experience unlike any other cruise.
Daily at 11am and 1.30pm
Adults $21.35. Seniors (60+) $19.95. Child (3-12) $13.75.
Space is limited to 30 participants per trip. Reservations are required, but walk-ins available if not full. Telephone: (727) 441-1790 for reservations.
Dolphin Shows: The resident bottlenose dolphins want to share their stories of why they can no longer reside in the wild. They reside in 100% salt water brought directly from the Gulf of Mexico.
You will get to see what personal medical care the dolphins receive on a daily basis and also just how intelligent bottlenose dolphins are by the complex behaviours they are learning. Watch as they show you their grace, power and beauty.
Photo opportunities: Want to take home a lasting memory of your visit to CMA? Have your photo taken with one of the resident dolphins. You can pose poolside while a family member or CMA staff member takes that perfect shot.
Offered every day following the dolphin shows. Limited to 4 or 5 participants per session so make your reservation early. $20 per person. Telephone: (727) 441-1790 for reservations.
