The Catty Shack Ranch is dedicated the rescue and care of big cats. They provide sanctuary to cats confiscated by the state for illegal ownership, improper enclosures or maltreatment. They also educate the public to discourage illegal, private ownership. Wild animals, especially big cats, do not make good pets.
Primarily, the adults they have received from a variety of governmental departments when they have confiscated the cats from abusive and/or neglectful situations. The younger cats are mostly the result of their endangered species breeding program. They are very selective about which cats they breed.
A tour to the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary provides a unique and educational experience for both children and adults.
This is a guided tour. The tour lasts anywhere from 30 – 60 minutes depending on the questions asked. No member of the tour will be allowed to go their own way and become separated from the main group. This is not a petting zoo and there will be absolutely no contact or handling of any animal at the sanctuary.
Try to arrive 15 minutes early so your tour group will be ready for your scheduled time. If you are more than 30 minutes late, your deposit will not be refunded. A non-refundable deposit of $25.00 is required (2) two weeks prior to your scheduled tour date. The $25.00 will be applied to the total cost of your tour. All other fees will be paid at the sanctuary prior to beginning your tour.
Due to the time required to prepare for tours and the fact that all of our personnel are volunteers and receive no compensation for their time, a minimum tour size of 20 people is required.
